Graduate Assistant of the Year Nominee Form

This application is open for faculty, staff, and/or administrators to nominate exemplary Graduate Assistants for GA of the Year. The applications will be collected by the Graduate School and reviewed by a committee.

The deadline for these applications is February 28, 2025.

    • In the space provided below, please provide examples of the nominee's reliability, quality of work, initiative, professionalism, and uniqueness of contribution. Examples should be specific and show how this GA exceeds expectations in such a way as to be honored as an example among his/her peers.
    • Provide specific examples of how the GA demonstrates trustworthiness and consistency of performance that set them apart from others. Avoid generalities such as "shows up on time and completes all assignments on time".
    • Provide specific examples of how the GA demonstrates diligence, accuracy, completeness, and communication that sets them apart from others. Avoid generalities such as "all work is of the highest quality".
    • Provide specific examples of how the GA demonstrates resourcefulness/creativity with developing/improving processes/work flow without your direct influence that set them apart from others. Avoid generalities such as "completes assignments with little to no supervision".
    • Provide specific examples of how the GA demonstrates competency or excellence setting him/herself apart from others or setting an example for others. How does this GA represent VSU to constiuents? Avoid generalities such as "always conducts him/herself in a professional manner".
    • Provide specific examples of how the GA's contributions to your department are noteworthy or leave a legacy for others coming after him or her. How has this GA made him or herself indispensable? Avoid generalities such as "we will miss him/her very much; so and so is irreplaceable".
